A Zombie apocalypse has been a popular topic of conversation the past few years, with many shows and movies depicting what may happen if the world as we know it was to end. One of the most popular of these shows is the Walking Dead. Although TV is not always accurate with what would happen in real life, there are a few lessons we can take away from the Walking Dead.
Survival Based has put together “7 Survival Tips Learned From the Walking Dead.” We picked out a few to highlight:
“Beware of other Survivors, no matter how nice they seem”
Survival Based gives a few of examples from the show such as how the Governor seemed like a nice guy at first but as it turned out, he wasn’t. The lesson is: you never know what motives your fellow survivors have, and although some might actually be nice, others are just out to do you harm or steal supplies.
“Basic Survival Skills Will Save Your Life”
“When it’s all said and done, at the end of the day it’s basic survival skills that will keep you alive.” Most episodes showcase how the characters survive day to day by covering the basic human needs of food, water and shelter. “Without these, they’d be zombie bait pretty quickly.”
“Always have your Bug-out Bag ready”
This is probably the most important tip that the shows covers. It is the basic idea that you never know when things are going to go south. Having the ability to pick up and go at a moment’s notice is crucial to your survival.
The last tip is also a good one to practice now. Having your bug-out bag ready to go will help you get out of town faster if the zombie apocalypse/world ending was to happen. The best tip anyone can give for survival is to be prepared.
