Many people believe that firearm defense training takes a high level of skill and constant training. Some people have a passion for guns and shooting while most people just want to have enough skills with a firearm to be able to defend themselves if they need to. While continuing to learn is important, most new shooters can learn basic defensive firearm tips relativity quickly. In the video below, Rob Pincus from the Personal Defense Network shows how easy and relatively painless it is to teach a new shooter the fundamentals of defending themselves.
A new shooter should be able to learn the firearm basics in under 10 minutes. They should be taught simple commands of “Extend the gun, touch the trigger, slowly and smoothly press the trigger.” Once they have these down, they have the basics to defend themselves and can, if they choose, to expand them into more advanced defensive shooting concepts.
